Helping You Maintain a Healthy Smile for a Lifetime!
Routine cleanings are essential to maintaining a healthy smile. We recommend our patients visit us twice a year for a cleaning, during which we will gently remove plaque from the teeth and gums. During this time, we examine the smile and mouth for any symptoms of developing problems, such as cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer. This way, we can ensure we begin any necessary treatments as soon as possible. We will perform any digital x-rays as needed.
At the end of the exam, we will provide you with feedback in regards to your hygiene routine and will offer recommendations as to how you can improve your techniques. We encourage our patients to be proactive about their dental and oral health!
Overall oral health encompasses not just your teeth, but your gums as well. Neglecting to clean the gums can result in the development of gingivitis, and when left untreated, can lead to periodontitis. Periodontitis is often accompanied by tooth loss. That’s why we perform scaling and root planing, which is a treatment that deep cleans beneath the gum line, removing plaque and bacteria so that the gums can provide the proper support for that beautiful smile!
Snoring not only disrupts your sleep (and your family’s sleep as well!). It can also be a symptom of sleep apnea, a condition during which one stops breathing for short periods of time repeatedly throughout the night. This can cause a bevy of health problems, including fatigue, memory problems, headaches, high blood pressure, and more. At our practice, we can craft mouth guards that patients wear at night to open up the airways. This prevents snoring and allows you and your family to get a better night’s sleep!
